- Mouths need to be rinsed after meals and snacks. By refreshing your enamel with water you’re cleaning off bacteria from your smile as well as sugars and acids!
- Patients who have eaten should brush their teeth only after waiting thirty minutes to avoid risking dental enamel erosion. It actually takes that long for your enamel re-mineralize after acid exposure.
- In order to keep your oral health in check, it’s important that you reach for snacks like water-rich fruits and crunchy vegetables. Do this instead of indulging in sweet treats, especially over long periods of time!
- Pay attention to any unconscious behaviors you may have that put your smile at risk. If, for example, you are someone who chews on ice, hard candies, mints, or cough drops, now is the time to kick this habit to the curb.
